GOD'S GOLD COIN OF FRIENDSHIP
If you have two sides of the same coin, guess what --- you still have only one coin. No matter how different the two sides of the coin are.
What is this coin?
The Face of the Coin reads; "The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend". Exodus 33:11a.
The Obverse of the Coin reads; "I have come here to oppose you". Numbers 22:32b
Background of these verses
Because of the close speaking and hearing relationship that God had with Moses, this elevated him to a higher plane than his fellow Christians (or saints if you like). That is why when Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, the Lord got angry with them. And...the Lord made Miriam's skin leprous like snow. See Numbers 12:1,2,4-10a.
On the other hand --- God opposeed Balaam for two reasons. One, he refused to do only what the Lord told him to do. Two, he chose not to live life so that his eyes were open to the supernatural involvement of angles in his life. See Numbers 22:20, 31 and 34.
It is how well you hear God's voice that matters
A different Outcome in Balaam's life or in your life is possible
The for-sure one possible outcome in Balaam's life which is mentioned in the Bible is an angel could have sliced and diced him to death with a big old sword. You ever wonder what the death certificate would have read in a case like that?
So for the Christians who choose to have a close friendship and relationship with God, He is going to confer special treatment and status on them.
For those Christians who choose not to hear God so well, if at all, He may well cause sickness or death to come upon them.
The Choice is Yours Today
I urge you in light of God's mercies to choose to hear Him today. Hear God better and more often. Hear God speak to you in a multitude of ways.
